Dominant Display Sees Košarkarski klub Vipava Triumph with 100-37 Victory

In a commanding performance during the LWB Senior league match, Košarkarski klub Vipava dismantled their opponents with a resounding 100-37 win. The scoreboard reflected an overwhelming superiority across all four quarters, with period scores escalating from 20-8 in the opening stretch to an imposing 28-8 finale.

The contest, held at OŠ Ivanovec in the 2026/27 season, showcased a well-balanced team effort, but one star shone particularly brightly. Ema Nabergoj led the charge with an outstanding individual display, scoring 14 points on an efficient 71.4% shooting, including 5 out of 6 two-point attempts. Adding 4 of 5 free throws, securing 6 rebounds, and an impressive 7 steals, her overall efficiency rating topped the game at 23. Ema Nabergoj also contributed 2 assists and maintained a plus-minus of +49, underlining her critical impact on the floor.

This victory was never in doubt as Košarkarski klub Vipava established control early, taking the lead in the first period with a 20-8 advantage and never surrendering it. The visitors steadily extended their lead during the second quarter, outscoring their opponents 24 to 14, and then exploded with 28 points in each of the last two quarters, while allowing just 7 and 8 points respectively.

Supporting Ema Nabergoj's efforts, Uli Smerdel was instrumental, contributing 22 points on 57.9% shooting and tallying 5 steals. Neža Stopar also impressed with 10 points and 4 assists, while providing solid defense with 5 rebounds. Jana Likar Ivanov showcased efficient scoring with 8 points on 66.7% shooting and 4 rebounds, complemented by a block. The team’s cohesive play enabled them to maintain consistent pressure throughout.

Conversely, the opposing squad struggled to find offensive rhythm, managing only 37 points. Laura Bašek was their top scorer with 11 points, including a flawless 5-for-5 from the free-throw line, but even her efforts were insufficient against the visiting team's relentless scoring. The home team's shooting percentages reflected the uphill battle they faced, unable to break through the opposition defense effectively.

This match serves as a testament to Košarkarski klub Vipava's potential and form this season, highlighting both individual brilliance and collective synergy. Their emphatic triumph sets an imposing tone as the league progresses.
